Buchner flask

A Büchner flask, also known as a vacuum flask^[1], is a thick-walled erlenmeyer flask with a glass tube and hose barb protruding about an inch from its neck, connected to an aspirator. It is primarily used in conjunction with a Büchner funnel and a vacuum pump for the rapid dehydration of small samples. The Büchner funnel holds the sample isolated from the suction by a layer of filter paper.
